Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the age of 90.
Beloved husband of the late Anne Collard (nee Gray). Loving father of Linda Simpson (Gary) and Peter Collard (Shelley). Cherished grandfather of Heather, Melissa (Lorne), Danielle (Alex), Emma, Andrew (April) and great grandfather of Marshall and Stanley. Devoted son to the late Reuben and Alice Collard. Dear brother of Albert “Ted” Collard (Marcia) – both predeceased. Bob made the family home in Whitchurch-Stouffville where he resided most of his life.
He was the President of Collard Customs Brokers Ltd, 2nd generation to his father Reuben and continued on until 1993 when he retired. An avid golfer at Sleepy Hollow Golf and St. Andrews East Golf clubs for many years where he made lifelong friendships. Also, a member of the Birch Cliff Masonic Lodge, the Viking Shrine Club, and the Rameses Shriners - Drum Corps Marching Unit. Bob always wore a smile and was a true gentleman. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by all his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E, Orillia on September 12th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
