On April 4th, at 47 years, Gary Michael Cook, of Ramara ON, peacefully with family by his side, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Gary will be deeply missed by the love of his life, his wife Tanya LeBrun, who was by his side caring for him always. An amazing and proud father survived by his three boys Ashton Cook, Spencer Corston and Hadley Cook whom he loved so deeply. They will miss him dearly. Survived by his loving parents, Bonnie and Michael Cook of Belleville. Son in Law of Delbert and Marilyn LeBrun, of Orillia. Loving brother to Jennifer, Becky (Jason Stark), Michael (Sahar Nasseri), Christina, Bonnie and Robert (Sabrina Bradley). Brother in Law to DJ LeBrun. Many close nieces and nephews who he spent hours playing and singing with and teaching them about camping which he loved so much.

Gary spent his last week with all of his family and friends enjoying his favourite meals, sharing memories, seeing some amazing fireworks, and was surrounded by love.

From Belleville ON, Gary finished his education before finding his passion in technical sales capping off his successful career the past 15 years at Schneider Electric proud of his work and admired by his colleagues.

Gary moved to Ramara 17 years ago to marry the love of his life, and together they have raised three amazing young men. He loved unconditionally, was patient, kind and had genuine warmth that made people gravitate to him.

Gary loved camping in Algonquin Park. Gary loved music. He loved being a father and a husband. He loved to travel. He loved to be outdoors. He was usually busy working on something, or helping someone and was always singing along to a song, or just singing out loud. He loved to sing with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love of camping, his traditions, the Gary’eoke nights, his Birthday week and the unconditional love and compassion he showed to all he knew.
Gary was truly an amazing man, father, spouse, son, brother and friend and will be immensely and deeply missed by his family and friends. He accomplished so much in his short time with us. His traditions will forever be carried on by those who loved him. The 2 year battle with cancer was a testament to his strength, strong will and determination in all he did. We celebrate this amazing man who had no idea how special and impactful he was to so many, rest easy, you are loved beyond measure, and you will be forever missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing you.

The family would like to express their most heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the care and guidance of Joanne Matt, Nurse Practitioner, without whom we could not have endured this journey so gracefully. Your care and compassion is beyond measure, you are simply an angel.

Our nurse Sherri Ann who fought alongside us in homecare every step of the way.
To Dr. Murphy and the MAID team our deepest and sincere thank you. Also thanks to so many nurses, doctors, and homecare workers who we received treatment, care and guidance from over the past two years. And to so many others, even strangers, who were a part of this journey we were on, you are appreciated. Thank you to our families, our community, and our friends for supporting and helping to see us through our most difficult time.

As per Gary's wishes, there will be no funeral services, but rather a celebration of life for Gary at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.
