COOPER, Olive Fern (nee Hill)

Passed peacefully at Spencer House in Orillia on Tuesday November 22, 2022 in her 93rd year. Olive, predeceased by her husband of 68 years Russell, will be sadly missed by her children Brian (Coleen), Lynn (Ken Lloyd), Terry (Silvia), and Bonnie (Frank) Baye. Olive will be forever remembered by her grandchildren Glenn, Kelly, Jeff, Jennifer, Melissa, Lindsey, and Tyler, and by her great grandchildren Tyson, Damien, Alexa, Molly, Ryerson, Oceana, Everett, and Phoebe. Olive is survived by her brother Glen Hill and sister in law Helen Cooper. Olive nurtured a special bond with nephew Wayne (Carroll) and will be lovingly remembered by all her nieces and nephews. Olive is predeceased by her brothers Percy (Tiny) Hill, Harvey (Mabel) Hill, by her sister in law Patricia Hill, and by her brother in laws Edgar and Kenneth, Leslie, and by her sister in law Audrey. Mom was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother, always doing extra things to make each of us feel important and special throughout her life. She was an active community member, volunteering in a variety of ways. She worked diligently with the Coopers Falls Circle Ladies for approximately 65 years. Olive was an avid competitor in the Severn Fall Fair and even more so in the Ramona Fall Fair. For many years she served in different capacities in the Washago Women’s Institute. Olive was recognized as a member of the Ramona Hall Fair Board, and is currently and honourary member of the board. As well, she was voted senior citizen of the year in Ramara Township. A sincere thank you to the caring and dedicated staff at Spencer House who provided comfort and support to Olive for many months. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Friday November 25, 2022 from 10 am until time of service in the chapel at 12 o’clock.. If desired memorial donations may be made to Mariposa House Hospice or to the Ramona Union Cemetery and would be appreciated by the family.
