The Legendary "PIT BOSS" has punched his last time card.

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Levi Corry on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, of Niagara Falls, Ontario, at the age of 86.

Cherished husband and best friend of Margaret (née MacDowall). Devoted father to Robbin (Keith) and Rachel (Steve). Extremely proud Poppy to Dustin, Steven and Sarah.

Born and raised in Orillia, Ontario, Lorne was well known throughout the Ontario construction and quarry industries as “the” heavy equipment operator, working at Miller Paving and BOC Construction before landing a job at Steed and Evans in 1966 and calling Niagara home. When Steed and Evans in Fonthill closed he was promptly hired on by other reputable aggregate companies including Blue Circle, Lafarge, Snider Docks and last but not least, Walker Industries, where he finally retired at the age of 70.

Lorne enjoyed his work immensely and was very good at what he did. He loved the truckers he worked with and they, in turn, held him in high esteem.  Lorne will be deeply missed by his family, all his trucker buddies, his neighbours and all his friends, of which there were many.

In keeping with his wishes, a celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Niagara Falls. Online condolences may be shared on Lorne's tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com. As Lorne would say, “That’s a BIG 10-10, over and out”.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Welland Spay and Neuter Clinic.

“There’s nothing better once you’ve had the best”
