Passed away peacefully, before the midnight hour, July 17th at Mariposa House Hospice with his family by his side, at the age of 77.  Don was born in Toronto on November 18th, 1945, to parents John William Davidson and Irene Dimmock (predeceased).  

He moved to Orillia in 1956 with his dad and brother to live with his Grandparents, Harold, and Marion Davidson (predeceased). They became his primary care givers in his early years on Cedar Island Road. Don met his beloved wife Lynda (Moase) in 1965 and married at Regent Park Church in 1969. They recently celebrated 54 years married on June 7th.  He became an Elementary teacher at East Oro Public School then joining the Simcoe County District School board and continued teaching for 41 years at David H. Church, Mount Slaven, Harriett Todd and Marchmont Public Schools.  

Don enjoyed outdoor activities like swimming, boating, water skiing, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed many other sports, coaching and playing activities like hockey, basketball, and baseball.  

Don would tackle any project, never backing down from a challenge. He was always helping others inside and outside of his family. He tirelessly sacrificed his own leisure for helping his family with endless projects whether for his wife, sons, or grandchildren.  

Don is survived by his wife Lynda Davidson (Moase), beloved father to Stephen Davidson and Nicole Belair (predeceased), Michael Davidson and Christa (Leigh). Loving Grandfather to Tucker and Tilley Davidson.  Loving Son-in-Law to Jack and Elva Moase (predeceased).

Loving Brother to John Davidson and Lynell and Linda Mcbride(Chute). Loving Brother-in-Law to Frances (Moase) and Wilbert Carrick. Loving Uncle to Darren and Robyn, Dale, Sheila and Christine and their families.  

Donations can be made to Mariposa Hospice House in Orillia or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.  

Visitation will happen at Carson Funeral Homes from 6-8 pm, on Monday July 24th and from 11-12 on Tuesday July 25th. The ceremony will be held at Carson Funeral Homes at 12:00 on July 25th with a reception to follow at 1:00pm.
