It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my dear beloved husband, James George Charles Duncan, on Sunday November 5th, 2023.

Jim always had a passion for learning, reading and exploring, especially through travel. He was such a kind, gentle, compassionate soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Jim was a great friend to so many, a great father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and husband. Jim was a humanitarian and always a peacekeeper.

“When the Power of Love
Overcomes the love of Power
The world will know Peace”

He was proud of his children, Adam and Chantal, and treated my children, Shawn, and Olivia like his own. He was such a proud Grampa to Angela, Emilia, Joseph, and Luke (born November 2nd, 2023). Our dogs Toshi and Lily miss him so much.

Jim’s career as a teacher in Scarborough didn’t end when he retired. Jim spent his whole life teaching, which was his gift to so many. Jim pursued many hobbies but his passion was genealogy and he loved working on family trees. He had a great love for music of all genres but especially folk.

Jim did not want a funeral but a celebration, which will take place in the spring. For Jim, spring signified rebirth, growth and new beginnings. Details will follow regarding the date and location.

In Jim’s wishes, he asked “if anyone wanted to make a donation in his name though not necessary: Stephen Lewis Foundation or Medicins Sans Frontieres”.

My love for you Jim will never end.
