It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Dutrisac on Monday July 17 2023.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, she passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at Mariposa House Hospice in Severn, Ontario. She was an active member of West Hill United Church and later attended St. Mark’s United In Whitby. Joan’s talents included sewing, rug hooking, gardening and hosting many memorable family events at both her home and cottage.
Joan is survived by daughters Debbie Thistle (Gerry), Judy Bernard, Janice Niven (David), seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Vern, her loving husband of 70 years.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday August 21st at Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St.E., in Orillia at 1:00 PM with visitation starting at 12:00. If desired, donations can be made to Mariposa House Hospice. Online messages and memories are welcome at carsonfuneralhomes.com
