FELL, Laurene Ann (Lauree)

At the tender age of 7, when Lauree’s Grandma (Byrdie) passed away, she stated that she wanted to help older people when she grew up. By age 10, Lauree had helped her late Great Aunt Ettie and late Great Aunt Velma. Seniors were Laurees destiny and love. She was loved, well-respected and admired by every senior she aided over her career. They are also left to grieve Lauree all too soon. From a young age, Lauree loved to swim in her pool, attend dance class weekly well into her teens, but it turns out that a Ladies Baseball Team really gave her an extra special love of the game. Lauree had great times with her team and brother Bill as their coach. They represented Will Marshall Insurance and made sure to always be Top Players. Lauree had a wonderful affinity for collecting anything “Pigs”. She loved butterflies, gardens and was so excited about decorating her new home. We are left to carry on those dreams for Lauree, her children and her furry pals. Lauree enjoyed reading great books, Anne of Green Gables and shared her Mom’s love and enjoyment of all Gordon Lightfoot music. It is ironic that Lauree and Gordon will enter Heaven together.

Cremation will occur after organ donations have been completed. There is a wonderful possibility that nine other lives will be enriched by Lauree’s act of selflessness. At the families request any donations can be respectfully made to Lupus Foundation of Canada, Mariposa Hospice or Hospital for Sick children through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia (705) 327-0221. Messages of condolence are welcomed www.simcoefuneralhome.ca. A celebration of Lauree’s remarkable life will be held on Sunday May 21, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, 215 Mississaga Street Orillia, Ontario. For the continued safety and protection of everyone, the family requests all those in attendance to please wear a mask. We thank you in advance.
