Valerie Lorraine Fitzsimmons (nee Smith)
It is with sadness and a broken heart we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Valerie Lorraine Fitzsimmons (Retired 30 year Oshawa/Whitby Realtor). Valerie passed away suddenly after a brief illness on February 25, 2024, at the age of 74 with her family by her side, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia, On. Valerie, beloved wife of George for over 30 years, loving mother of Lorrie (Peter), Lisa (Al), Tammy (Myles) and Jason. Cherished grandmother of Melissa, Mitchell, Ben and Kyle. Dear sister of Diane, Gilbert (predeceased), Vickie, Shelley, Paul and Jenny. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Valerie loved to shop especially in Arizona where she and George wintered for over 19 years. She always enjoyed a great murder mystery novel. Her famous butter tarts will be missed by all. But most importantly she will be remembered for her love for her family and friends, always being there for anyone in need.
Please join us in celebrating Valerie's life, following cremation, visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Monday March 4, 2024, from 11 am until time of service at 12 noon. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
