Maria (Mary) Frost (nee Van Oostayen) passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday March 6th, 2024, at the age of 83.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Johnston Frost (2016). Much loved mother of Bob Frost (Brenda), and Cynthia Rodger (Jamie). Cherished and loving Nana of Carly (Ryan), Kristy (Luke), Hailey, Sarah, and Ryan (Michaela), and great-nana of Carter. Dear sister of the late Martina (Hugh), Gertruda (Peter) and Antonius (Laura). Daughter of the late Antonia Johanna Zelen and Lodewijk Joseph Van Oostayen.
Mary was born in Neerkant, Noord Brabant, Netherlands. At the age of 10, she and her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Mount Forest, Ontario. This is where Mary met the love of her life, Bob (Robert), at the age of 19. The two were soul mates as everyone would say. Their unconditional love for everyone around them has left many with wonderful memories.
Mary was an extraordinary mom and nana who lit up the room with her smile, humor, and wit. She was very nurturing, sweet, kind, and generous with her time. The family home was always filled with laughter, never-ending love and understanding, and of course many wonderful dogs and cats, a few hamsters and a rabbit. In their later years, Mary and Bob enjoyed extensive travel in their motorhome, creating treasured memories with their grandchildren.
Mary was a true inspiration to her children who are so very grateful and thankful to have had her as their mom.
Mary’s love of family, friends and community will be forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia ON, on Saturday March 23, 2024 between 1:00 - 3:00pm
