Bob Gardner

September 29, 1938 – March 27, 2022

   It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert James Gardner at the age of 83, on  Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Regional Victoria Health Centre, Barrie Ontario. Bob is survived by brothers, Roy (Nancy), Jim, and sister in law Audrey Gardner (Young), and 11 nieces and nephews, plus 27 grand/great grand nieces and nephews. Bob was born September 29th 1938 at Goderich General Hospital to the late James Ernest Gardner and Tena (Havens) of Lucknow Ontario and married Denise Clarke in Sept 13 1957 who predeceased him in 2014. They had no children. Also he is predeceased by brother Eugene Gardner (2019), and sister-in-law Grace Otten (2011). Bob will be especially missed by nephew Greg Gardner and his family who live in Barrie.

   Bob and Denise moved from Brampton to Shanty Bay Oro Medonte, in the mid nineteen sixties making many friends and acquaintances over the years, and becoming well known throughout the area from his wood processing and lawn maintenance services and just being “The General Handy Man”.   Bob retired in 2019.

    A special thanks to Regional Victoria Health Center for their kind and caring support in Bobs final hours and, Home and Health-care Support Services of North Simcoe and their front-line workers for making it possible for Bob to remain in the comfort of his home and community as long as possible while receiving the professional care and support needed. And finally all the friends and neighbors who kept an eye on Bob to make sure he was OK or in need of anything.

    Donations would be appreciated in Bob’s memory to: Home and Community Care Support Services North Simcoe Co, or Crohns and Colitis Canada.

    A private service will be held at time of interment in Greenhill Cemetery Lucknow Ontario at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.
