Gone home to be with his Lord & Saviour, peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, July 24th, 2019, at the age of 67. Beloved Husband of 45 years to Ruth (nee Delaney). Loving, selfless and kind-hearted Father of Julie Elliott (Russell), Joshua (Rebecca), Jonathan (Vanessa) and Jennifer Housser (Nathan). Proud and adored Papa of Ava-Holly, Elijah, Alexandra, Reuben, Esther, Grayson, Seth, Ruthie, Cohen, Hannah, Caleb and Victoria. Dear brother of Gary (Arden). Cherished son of the late Allan and Norma Grant. Loved son-in-law of the late Tom and Dorothy Delaney. His many nieces, nephews and friends will remember him for his sense of humour, generosity, hospitality and love of life. Doug will be remembered for his devotion to the Lord, his utmost love, respect and support for his family and church family and his gracious, dependable and honest character as a business man. Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Sunday, July 28th from 2-6 p.m. and at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 Coldwater Rd. W., Orillia on Monday, July 29th from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon. Interment: St. Andrew’s – St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia. In memory of Doug, memorial donations to Empower Ministries or Emmanuel Baptist Church, Orillia would be appreciated.
