It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Domenico Gullo, of Wasaga Beach, on Thursday, February 8th, at the age of 83 years.

Domenico will be lovingly remembered by his children, Rosa (Tony), Paul (Sylvia) and Michael (Margot). He is survived by the mother of his children, Maria.  Proud Nonno to his adoring grandchildren, Domenico, Chiara, Alessio, Emma, Matteo, Nora, Liliana and Saveria. He will always be remembered by his siblings, Pietro, Vincenza, Antonia, Rosa, Teresa and Giuseppina, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Domenico will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Paolo and Rosa, and his siblings, Giuseppe, Francesco and Antonino.

Domenico was born in Maierato, Italy. His roots grew deep in an agricultural area in the foothill of Calabria. He immigrated to Canada in 1962, arriving in Halifax and settling in Toronto with his brothers and sisters. But for Domenico, who remained a country boy at heart, he chose to make a home in Barrie. He was never far from a lake, forest, beach or a beautiful landscape.  “Domenic the Barber” cared for his clientele; he developed numerous friendships that lasted decades. He worked and lived throughout Simcoe County for the majority of his life.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the incredible staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Floor 6: Your care, compassion and support for our father will always be remembered.
