HARTLEY, Mary Goodwin (nee Carswell)

Peacefully on Thursday July 13th, 2023 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of Rev. Robert George (Bob) Hartley. Dear mother of Katherine Ann Rogers-Hartley (Timothy Alan Rogers) and Christine Morton (David Morton). Cherished "Granny" of Kiernan James, Erika Francine, Nathanael Paul and Peter Joshua. Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth Jane Goodwin and John Ballantyne Carswell. Mary will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends. As a Ministers Wife and only child she was thankful for the love and open arms of her Christian Family in St. David's and St. Athanasius of Orillia, St. Paul's in Lindsay and St. John's Lakefield. Mary had a great love for nature and animals. She loved bird watching, wild flowers, and horse back riding. Mary was an accomplished artist and a true prayer warrior. Whether it was repairing a carburetor or raising baby chicks and ducks in the kitchen, gardening and farming was a great passion, helping to feed her family. She spent forty-two years enjoying her sugar bush producing Mary's Marvelous Maple Syrup.

Memorial Service will be held at Compass Community Church 246289 Hockey Rd. Mono Ontario on Saturday July 22nd, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the War Amps, Cuddles For Cancer, Arms for Jesus (Guatemala) or Edward Ndlovu Community Libraries would be appreciated by the family.
