After a long health battle, and with family by his side, Gerry Heal at the age of 87 passed away at Leacock Care Centre, Orillia on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
Beloved husband of Sandra. Loved father to Cynthia Hotoyan (Roger), Peter Heal (Audra), and Rebecca Birmingham (Rob). Cherished grandfather of Taveet Hotoyan (Jess), Danial Hotoyan (Tara), Maegan Stevenson-Heal (Brian), Abby Birmingham, Jack Birmingham and great grandfather of Sofia Hotoyan. Predeceased by his siblings Nancy Thompson (late Ron), and Bobby Heal. Very special and loved uncle to Bill Thompson (Michelle), and the late Kathy Thompson.
Gerry was an avid skier in the winter and boater and golfer in the summer. He loved to build things with his own hands including his red boat he named aptly named Scorpio. He also enjoyed a walk with family after a good meal and was always asking Sandra to make him a sandwich. Gerry would have a little shot occasionally and called it a “halfy”. Take a moment, share a story and have a halfy in his honour. At this time there will be no public visitation or service.
