Guy Healy - Obituary Picture

With modesty and perpetual resilience in life, Guy peacefully passed away at Spencer House on Friday December 3, 2021 at the age of 85, with his family at his side.

Beloved son of the late Leo & Frances (Clough) Healy. Loving husband of the late Mary (Murphy) Healy. Dear father of Mike Healy (Michelle Prophet-Healy) and Maryleah (Chris) Palaro. Proud grandpa of Anika, Owen and Lukas Palaro. Brother of Gemma Healy of Orillia and predeceased by siblings Brian Healy, John J. Healy, Philomena Fountain, Martin Healy, Leona Naughton and Eileen Bransfield.  Guy will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Working as a machinist at Kubota, Guy utilized his skills in design and construction.  At the farm, these skills were most evident in his ability to create gadgets and repair parts using few resources. His most cherished times, however, were when the day’s work was complete: sitting at the kitchen table talking over the day with Mary and the kids, visiting the ‘Healy Clan’ on  Sunday afternoons, or, in the later years, looking out the window watching traffic and looking over the fields with his cat ‘Jazzy’ on his lap.  Guy welcomed the chaos of his grandchildren’s visits, and looked forward to attending their sporting events and gathering with his family for Sunday morning breakfast after Church.  Over the years, Guy’s morals and resilience were a legacy to his family.  He will be honoured and missed.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Carson Funeral Homes - Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater Street E., Orillia, (705)-326-3595, on Thursday December 9th, 2021 at 12:00-1:45 pm with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Guardian Angels Catholic Church at 2:00pm.  Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the  St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family.
