Passed away very peacefully at his home surrounded by all his immediate family on Monday April 1, 2024 in his 83rd year.  Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynda (nee Balkwill), sons Craig and Ryan (Jodie), and grandsons Alex and Jesse.  Brother of Larry (Sharlene, predeceased), Dennis (Bonnie), and Judy Caldwell (predeceased) and brother-in-law of Jackie Caldwell.  Loving uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Norman and Mary (nee Dicker).

Bob was raised in Jarratt, worked for the City of Orillia at the Water Filtration Plant, retiring after 30 years of service, he spent his time roaming the farm on his 4-wheeler, golfing, gardening, and maintaining friendships with all his long-time neighbours and life-long friends throughout the community.  Bob was an animal lover and enjoyed the company of his many pets.  He also enjoyed fishing trips and spending time at the family camp on Red Cedar Lake.

The family wish to thank the incredible services of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia, the staff at Bayshore Healthcare, the PSWs from Care Partners for their amazing work for helping Bob to stay comfortable at home, and to Coldwater Funeral Home for their guidance and compassion.

Following cremation, the family will honour Bob’s life at the Coldwater Legion, Coldwater on Sunday June 2nd from 1-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, you may consider a donation in Bob’s memory to The Comfie Cat Shelter, Orillia or to The Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, Rosseau and may be made through the Coldwater Funeral Home, (705-686-3344).
