KENT, Steven (Teeder) Allen

It is with heavy hearts that the Kent family shares the sudden passing of Steve on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the age of 68. Steve was born and raised in Orillia, growing up on North Street with his six siblings and beloved mother Doris. He was well known by many Orillians from his first job at the Frosty Treat, to his time as the manager of the Sundial, and finally as a well-respected construction supervisor for over twenty-five years.

Teeder’s greatest joy in life came from his family. He and his wife Jacquie would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this fall. He was the incredibly proud father of Milli (Dan), Sarah (Jason), Abbie, and Josh. He also took great joy in watching his grandchildren Jack and Wesley grow into fine young men. He is survived by his father Ross and his siblings Greg (Kimberly), Carol (Roark), Lorie (Mike), Jennie (Eddie), George, and Jeff. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews: Rhett, Adam, Bryan, Derek (predeceased), Matt, Rebecca, Courtney, Alex, Jocelyn, Steven, and Christopher. He joins his dear mother Dodie in rest.

Steve’s greatest dream was to win the lottery so that he could build a family home big enough to bring all of his relatives together. Steve particularly enjoyed reading a good book while camping. He beamed with pride every chance he had to listen to his musical family sing songs together around a campfire. He was a wonderful chef and an armchair Jeopardy champion. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s Centre on Friday, October 7th from 7-10pm. Everyone is welcome to come and share their stories. Guests are encouraged to come in their favourite Hawaiian shirt, which Steve wore at every possible occasion and referred to as his “party shirt”. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on behalf of Steven Kent to St. Paul’s United Church in Orillia, a wonderful place rich with music and memories for the Kent family. Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes – L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E Orillia (705) 326-3595
