Passed away at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Thursday May 2nd, 2019 in his 79th year. Julius Kukurugya of Orillia, beloved husband of Margaret Kukurugya (nee Zeidman) of 48 years. Much loved father of Jae Fratzl and her husband Gerald. Dear brother of Esther Waltz (John) and Jerome Kukurugya (Lois). Dear brother-in law of Alex Zeidman-predeceased (Maureen Topp), Elaine Markovic (Mica)-both predeceased and David Zeidman-predeceased (Elizabeth). Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
From his humble beginnings playing high school trumpet in Uniontown PA to the international operatic stages of Europe, North America and South Africa, he showed a love of performing. His warm bass voice and humour enhanced any musical comedy he performed in. In his later career he had many TV and movie roles. He is perhaps best known for portraying J.M. Schneider’s Meats.
A service to celebrate and remember Julius’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home- 38 James Street East Orillia on Saturday May 11th, at 2 p.m. A reception to follow.
