It is with great sadness that we announce Merv’s passing after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 8th, 2022, in his 80th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Audrey (Alyward) for over 50 years. Loving father to Lee Ann (Jason), Lisa and Shane (Heather) Lambe. Loving Grandpa to Solaya Barros, Emmett, Isaac and Ethan Lambe, and best dog friend Lulu. Loving brother to Ron Lambe (pre-deceased), Linda (Ken) Preston and Violet Mintz and brother-in-law and friend to Rose Marie McLean.
Lifelong friend of Bruce Barnard, who kept Merv’s spirits up with weekly visits and talks about the good old days. Merv was an avid golfer, pool player and once retired, a champion shuffleboard player. He loved the competition. He was nicknamed Mervinator at the pool hall and he spent countless hours teaching others everything he knew. He was very knowledgeable and always willing to help out and lend a hand. He was president of the Orillia construction association he was the go to drywaller in Orillia for over 20 years. Before retirement in 2007 he worked at HRC for 15 years. After retirement he spent every winter at his home in Florida for 14 wonderful years.
As per Merv’s wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place. He was loved and will be greatly missed. Go high on that mountain, your work here on earth is done.
