LOOKER, Joseph Frederick 'Fred'

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Looker of Washago on July 8,2022, at the age of 85. He was born in Penetanguishine,Ontario on September 25, 1936. He was the beloved and cherished husband of Dorothy(nee Fee) whom he met at the age of 9 in Ravenna,ON and was married to for 62 years. Loved father of Peter (deceased 2019, Nancy) of York SC, Glenn (Ann) of Dunkirk MD, Maureen (deceased 1964), Colleen (Steve) of Guelph ON and Andrew (Debra) of Kingwood TX.Fred cherished being a grandfather/pappa to 8 and a great-grandfather to 5. He worked for Bell Canada until 1990, after 32 years of service, which allowed him the opportunity to work on the Canadian DEW Line, in Saudi Arabia, and in various locations within Ontario.When not working, he was actively involved in Boy Scouts (when the boys were young), Canadian Power Squadron (50 years), Masonic Lodge, building, boating, and numerous outdoor pursuits. Upon retirement, he permanently moved from Guelph to his Washago cottage ("Chipmunk Hollow"), which Dorothy and he began building in 1966.During his retirement, he divided his time between Washago, Florida, Sundridge, and visiting his family. A close family friend summed Fred's life up by saying that "He did it all". Arrangements entrusted to Simcoe Cremation Service.
