Peacefully at the Leacock Care Centre, Orillia on Tuesday December 6, 2022 in his 93rd year.
Gene McDonald of Washago, beloved husband of the late Janet Marie McDonald (nee Morton). Loving father of Jim (Judy) MacDonald, Pat (Doug) Hern, Brian (Kim) MacDonald, Karen (Paul) Herbst and Brent (Tara) MacDonald. Loved grandfather of Ryan (Ashley), Kristin (Matt), Sarah (Bob), Breanna, Allan, MacKenzie, Connor, Colin, Kelsey (Jaime), Taite, Hannah, Madison and Tannis. Cherished great grandfather of Alivia, Natalie, Jace, Owen, Calla, Keaton and Hadley. Survived by his sister Helen and brother in law Garry Ganton. Predeceased by his brother Bernie McDonald and his wife Carol (Rutledge). Will be missed by many nieces and nephews especially Scott and Jeff.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Carson Funeral Homes – L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E Orillia (705) 326-3595 on Monday December 12, 2022 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral service at 1 P.M. Cremation will follow. A reception will follow at the Ramona Hall, Ramona. If desired, memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Black River would be appreciated.
