McIsaac, Michael Albert - (July 26, 1951 - January 12, 2024)

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Albert McIsaac.  Mike passed away at the age of 72 on January 12th, 2024 surrounded by his family at Guelph General Hospital.  Mike is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna, and devoted father to daughter Karen Todd (Nick), son Daniel and daughter Kim (Mike Wolf).  Proud grandfather of Jackson, Marisa and Marshall.  Dear brother of Mary Pat (Geoff), Lori (Mike), Don (Cindi), Jamie (Lucia), John (Marg) and Maureen (Mark).  Brother-in-law to Ed (Bev) Nordvall and Janice (Derek) Green and Doug Nordvall.  Survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember Mike’s quick wit and sense of humour.

Mike was born in Orillia, Ontario attending Guardian Angels School.  He graduated top of his class in grade 8 and received a full scholarship to attend St Michael’s College School in Toronto.  He received his Honors BA from the University of Western.  His working career began at Battalia’s Grocery Store – delivering groceries by bicycle.  At the age of sixteen he worked at Weber’s in Orillia for 9 years – 4 years as Manager.  He was the Sales and Promotion Manager of 7- Eleven in Burlington Ontario, Calgary and Edmonton Alberta.

Mike always found time to help others.  He volunteered for St. James’ Catholic High School Parent Council, Autism Society of Ontario, Meals on Wheels, and driver for VON. Mike had an amazing memory and was a trivia expert.  He was a contestant on Jeopardy in the early 70’s.

Mike was a family-first man; selfless and generous toward his loved ones. Known and  loved for having a smart and unrivialed wit, humour was his way of bringing joy and comfort to those around him. He was the smartest man to his close family/friends, avidly a source of all textbook knowledge, and never failed to have something clever and lighthearted to say.

The Family would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors and all who supported and comforted him while at Guelph General Hospital.  A celebration of life will take place at  the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34 Orillia (215 Mississaga St. E Orillia) on Saturday May 11, 2024  from 2 - 4 PM. Please RSVP to [email protected]. If desired, in lieu of flowers donations to The Parkinson’s Society or Local Legion.
