Jane was born in Cobourg, Ontario in 1930, to the late Charles and Agnes Nichols. She had fun, played sports and embraced the learning experience as a student and graduate of the Ontario Ladies College (Class of 1950), University of Western Ontario and within her chosen profession as an elementary school teacher.
She was the wife for 42 years of the late Bob McNally, of Bass Lake; predeceased by brother Charles. She was the mother of Mary Jane (Stewart); John (Karen), Catherine (Robert).
Jane was a caring wife, loving mother, dedicated teacher and true friend. She was a devoted grandmother to Derek, Kieran, Grace and Clare, with enormous pride, a loving heart and witty sense of humour. She welcomed all the families to Bass Lake with many a celebration and memories shared.
Jane played an exceptional game of bridge, found pleasure in gardening, solace in music, let her creativity shine through her painting and just simply loved having a chat. Surprisingly, she became a real sports fan late in life…. Go Raptors!
In honour of Jane, a gathering of family and friends will be planned towards the end of the summer at Bass Lake.
In lieu of flowers, Jane would value donations to Orillia SPCA and Humane Society https://ontariospca.ca/orillia/ . A cause close to her heart as she always adored her pets and included them as family. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home.
