McNaughton

A message from Bob’s wife, Nicole: “I am deeply saddened to announce Bob’s passing on March 20, 2022, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie.  Bob and his twin sister, Elizabeth, were born January 20, 1953, in Uxbridge, ON to Robert F. and Caroline McNaughton, who were from Cupar, Scotland.  Bob is predeceased by his siblings Fraser, Elizabeth (1954), Margaret (and Don) Robinson, Ian, and William (“Bill”).  Bob is survived by his sister, Sheila Bruno (Louis, predeceased); our children Julie McNaughton, Jackie McNaughton (Ryan), Nathan Price (Ryleigh) and David Price; our grand-daughters Katie and Emma O’Neill, Madeleine and Vivienne Degagner; as well as many nieces and nephews. In this life he was also loved by my mom, Irene Thiessen, my sister Colette Ouellette, my brother Jim Cayer, and their families.  Bob will always be remembered by our Scotland family: John & Anne McNaughton, Kathleen and Dennis McInnes, Anne and Bill Johnson, and all their children.  As a young man, Bob apprenticed as a machinist, and vowed one day he would lead a team of workers.  He retired in October 2019 from the Management Team at B.C. Instruments, Schomberg, ON.  His motto in life was “Lead, follow, or get out of the way!”  Bob always wanted to leave things better than he found them.  He accomplished this through his work and with the people he loved.  No matter what our children or anyone needed, he was always there to support and guide us all with his love, his wisdom and understanding.  His final words to me were softly whispered, “I love you.”  A special thank you to the compassionate care team at Hospice Simcoe:  Aryn, Cheryl, Shannon, Garrett, Kevin, Fran, Joy, Holly, Emily, Sue, Dr. Emerson, the wonderful volunteers and Lori, the Spiritual Care Coordinator.  They gave so much of themselves to care for Bob in his final days.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Simcoe would be greatly appreciated. Bob will be buried at Fairview Cemetery in Grafton, ON beside his first wife, Bonnie Barrett (deceased 2001).”  I will love him always.  ~ Nicole
