Passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, on July 18, 2022, in her 73rd year after a courageous battle with cancer. Gloria was the cherished wife of her beloved husband Russell Middleton for nearly 50 years. She will be very sadly missed by her children Chris (Laura) and Jamie (Jon) as well as her four grandsons, Aidan, Matthew, Jaxon and Samuel, who will always remember her loving kindness to them. She will also be greatly missed by her sister June Nichol (Jim) , her brother Alan Sargeant, her nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
Born in Minden Ontario to Edward and Eva Sargeant (nee Kirkwood) Gloria was raised in Orillia. She will be fondly remembered for her love of a good debate, her delicious cooking, her dislike for butter, and her need of a step stool, but most of all she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family.
Cremation has taken place at Gloria's request and a celebration of life will follow in summer 2023. The family would like to thank all of Gloria's nurses and the PSWs from Bayshore Healthcare and H.I.S.H for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Cancer Society in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
