1933 - 2024

It is with much love and gratitude for a life well lived that we share the news of Fran Moloney's passing. She died peacefully in hospital on January 30, 2024. Fran will be missed as a wife, mother, grandmother (Nanny), great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Fran was born in Madoc, ON and lived in the Toronto area and Pointe Claire QC, before settling in Orillia. For Fran, her family was her reason for living - from her husband and her children through to her great-grandchildren. Fran was well-respected and volunteered in the community, particularly at Guardian Angels Church (Vinnies, CWL, bazaars, lunches and special events).

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Peter (Sandra), Valerie Lemay (Albert), Charlene Dixon (Greg) and Dan (Cindy); grandchildren Christine, Amanda (Jean-Paul), David (Moria), Leila, Jessica (Justin), Emily, Courtney (Brett), Jordon, and Breanna. Great-grandchildren Caleb, Dean, Evie, Gwen and Fionn; sisters-in-law Joan and Theresa; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her devoted husband Robert, parents Charles and Helen; her sisters Gwen, Pat, Kay, Anne and Joan; and brother Robert.

The family thanks Dr. Geoffrey Grieve, the staff and community of the Sundial Lakeview Retirement Residence and the staff at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, Feb 8, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm, at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street N, Orillia. Prayer service will take place Thursday, February 8, 6:45 pm at Mundell’s in the Parlour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, 9:30 am at Guardian Angels Church, 115 West Street N, Orillia. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Orillia with a reception following at the Church.
