It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Morton at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, in his 99th year. John was born in Toronto to Marjorie (Marnie) Winnifred Cuthbert and John Andrews Morton. Beloved husband of the late Arlene Muriel Morton (nee Franklin). Loving father of John Morton (Susan) and Richard Morton (Rose). Beloved grandfather of Chelsey Bannon (Matthew) and Abby Morton, as well as Chad Tomson and Angela Martin. Great-grandfather of Parker, Emerson and Evie Bannon. He will be specially missed by his nephew, Fred Franklin, who cared for him after Arlene’s passing, as well as his neighbours and friends on Tallwood, his fellow Kiwanians and business colleagues.

John served his country in the Air Force and Army during WWII as a Pilot, after which he got his education as an accountant at Queens University and RMC. That’s where he met the love of his life, Arlene. He continued his career as a CPA in Toronto, Fonthill, Brampton, Granby Quebec, and at Dorr Oliver in Orillia. After retirement John and Arlene bought a Kwik Kopy Printing franchise in Barrie, making a mark in the community for over 21 years. After a 2nd retirement, they started Pixels ’n’ Print in Orillia, together with Richard, for another 10 years. Love for his family, and service to the community was always close to his heart.

The family would like to thank all the PSWs from Paramed and Melanie at Home and Community Care, who took such care for him in his final months.

As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at Mundell’s Funeral Home. Messages of condolence are welcome at www.mundellfuneralhome.com .
