On January 27, 2022 Patricia Sylvia Georgina Naughton (nee Aikin) passed away peacefully, fulfilling her final wish of being home with her family. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Ray. Devoted mother of Donna Naughton, Betty Sears (Dave), Kathy Sansom (Greg, pre-deceased), Connie Lamb (Ken), George Naughton (Sherri), Norma Butler (Brad), Dorothy Naughton and Jane Pepper (Leon). Cherished Gramma of Kara Sears (Craig Thompson), Brady Zapalski (Skip), Kale Trombly (Jess), Logan Trombly, Erin Sears, Janna Sibley (Paul), Talis Sansom (Kelly Leonard), Lynsey Vanden Pol (Jake), Ryan Bowins (Jenn), Keith Lamb, Sean Lamb, Cory Naughton (Emily Davis), Tanya Robertson (Lee), Brandon Butler (Jenni), Kaisha Pepper (Scott Morrison), and Shaelyn Pepper. Great Gramma of Mykaela, Wyatt, Jaratt, Marek, Jorjah, Declan, Arloh, Kylie, Harrison, Bennett, Sadira, Atticus, Ayla, Riley, Lucas, Sierra, Drake, Nash, Teegan, Rhett and Max. Born March 17, 1929, in Bracebridge, Ontario, she was the only child of the late George and Evelyn Aikin. She spent her summers in Lake Rosseau, a place near and dear to her heart. From an early age the strength of Pat was evident, putting in countless hours working with her mother at Clements House, where she gained strong work values and her feisty outgoing personality. Pat was an only child but, she was fortunate enough to grow up as part of the Hawn family from Rosseau. This led to a lifelong friendship. She was our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother but we shared her with everyone she met. Her “pop-in” visits will be forever cherished by all fortunate enough to have a piece of her heart and a dozen butter tarts. Pat and Ray’s house was always open to anyone, and coffee, tea or a meal was offered, even in her final days. She was a 70-year member of the Catholic Women’s League in Orillia, and volunteered countless hours within her community. She offered love, support, and a smile to anyone who needed it. Her 80+ year friendship with Minnie Lovelace and Dot Stripp (pre-deceased), as well as her cherished and life time friendship with Alice Stamper (pre-deceased), gives testament to the values she held in connecting with people. Pat and Ray built their life in Warminster, dedicating time and energy into their family farm, raising 8 children who they encouraged to be kind and hardworking. They demonstrated these qualities everyday throughout their 50 years of marriage. The love of Pat and Ray created a beautiful family that included 8 children, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and an endless community of friends.
