Passed peacefully at the Leacock Care Centre, on Thursday, October 24th, 2019, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (nee: Anderson). Jim will be sadly missed by his children Duncan & wife Brenda Newman of Orillia, Jennifer & husband Don Dunbar of Washago, Peter & wife Kathy Newman of Oro-Medonte, Kenneth & wife Fiona Newman of Alice Springs, Australia. Loving grandfather to Nicole & husband Katsuya Sugie, Michelle & husband Eric Sutherland, Janet Newman, Shauna Newman, Jesse Newman (Sami), Shauna & husband Stu Todd and great grandfather of 11. Stepfather of Brad Emmons (Pauline), Janis MacIver (Ian), Marty Emmons (Lorie), step-grandfather of 4 and step-great grandfather of 1. Dear brother of Gladys, Gertrude, Gordon, Jack and Doris, all predeceased. Cremation has taken place and a Legion Service and Memorial Service will be held in the spring at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.
