It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Noganosh on August 7, 2023, in his 66th year. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community leader, Rodney leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedicated service that will forever be remembered by all who were touched by his spirit.

From a young age, Rodney displayed a strong sense of empathy and commitment to his family and community. He was a loving husband to Vicki, his partner in life and his unwavering source of support. As a father, Rodney's devotion knew no bounds. He was a pillar of strength and guidance for his children: Jonathon (Tiffany), Clint (Deborah), Tyler (Jenny), and Kayla (Charles). His nurturing spirit extended to his role as Papa to Jordan, Lilly, Talon, Leah, Noah, Emma, Serenity, Raiden, Charles, and Harmony. The joy and laughter he shared with his grandchildren were a testament to the love that flowed through him. Rodney cherished his family. He believed in the power of unity and the importance of sharing love, laughter, and time together. His legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives he touched and the memories he created.

Beyond his immediate family, Rodney's warmth and caring nature extended to his mother, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless friends throughout his time here. His genuine kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand created lasting connections that enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Rodney's commitment to his community was an integral part of his life. He served his community for over 25 years as a member of Council from 1996 to 2010.  He was re-elected in 2012, elected as Chief in 2014 and served until 2020, when he was once again elected to serve on Council, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to Rama First Nation. He led with wisdom and compassion, leaving a permanent mark on the community he held dear.  Rodney's passion for community recreation and sports was evident to all who crossed his path. He could often be found at the baseball diamond, a place where his enthusiasm and love for the game resonated with everyone around him.

A celebration of Rodney's life will take place on Saturday August 12, 2023 at 1pm at 6145 Rama Rd., Rama (MASK Arena) where friends and family will come together to honor his memory and share stories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Recreation Department at Rama First Nation by ETF: [email protected] or cheque, referencing Rodney Noganosh.

Rodney’s spirit will forever live on, reminding us to cherish our loved ones, serve our communities, and approach life with the same unwavering dedication that he exemplified. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and gratitude of all whose lives he touched.
