Quietly on November 4, 2018 at Birchmere Retirement Residence with family around her after recently celebrating her 95th birthday. Dearly loved wife of John (predeceased). Beloved mother of Gail Upton (Dennis Koczka) and Carol Lloyd (Eric). Devoted grandmother of Christina Upton (Stephen Tassie), Rebecca Hearns (James), Joshua Wolkowski (Melissa Edwards) and Sarah Cogo (Benjamin). Best G’Nana (great-grandmother) of Sophia, Emily, Calum, Kathryn and Abigail. Una was devoted to her family spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. Una excelled in many things including sewing, which she eventually turned into a passion for quilting and teaching quilting, and bridge playing well into her last year with friends at Leacock Lodge. G’Nana was the champion and matriarch of her family and there was no problem in life that couldn’t be solved over a good cup of tea at the kitchen table. “Let’s put the kettle on, shall we,” invariably meant we would pursue things until we found a solution. Una’s quick comebacks and sarcastic wit were evident right up until the end and she will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home 79 West St. N, Orillia on Wednesday November 7, 2018 from 7-9 P.M then from 11 until time of Funeral service at 12 o'clock in the chapel on Thursday November 8, 2018.
