With heavy hearts and fond memories, we bid farewell to our beloved John/Johnny/Pritch/Dad/G/Grumpa. John passed away peacefully on April 12th surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love and unforgettable moments.

John touched the lives of many with his kindness, compassion, and sense of humor. Whether it was a witty joke, hilarious anecdote, well-timed prank or playful taunt, John had a way of brightening the room and lifting spirits. Those fortunate to have experienced them also know his hugs were legendary.

In addition to John's humour, he will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He had a heart of gold and always wanted to see those around him succeed. He cared tremendously for his friends, whose support and companionship meant so much throughout the years.

John leaves behind a loving family: his devoted spouse, Elizabeth Hodgkinson; his beloved children, Jordan (Lindsey), Meghan (Nick) Hodgkinson and Kelsi Hodgkinson-Pritchard; and his adored grandchildren, Amelia, James, Rielly and Cooper.

The family would like to also take the opportunity to thank the staff at Couchiching Health at Home & Bayshore Health. The staff of personal support workers and nurses were so supportive over the last year. John drew energy from the company they provided and we know that John will be missed by the team that cared for him.

John's presence will be profoundly missed but forever celebrated in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. We take comfort in knowing that John is now watching over us with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, a one-liner ready and a wry smile to keep us on our toes. We miss you more than words can say, but we are grateful for every moment we shared.

A celebration of life in loving memory of John Pritchard will be taking place on Sunday, May 26th from 1pm-4pm. It will be located at 2228 Stockdale Rd (at the barn), with plenty of parking available- all are welcome, rain or shine. We will gather to share some of our favourite memories, funny stories and remember him for being a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and friend. He will be greatly missed.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Orillia as he always had a heart for helping others and wanted to make a difference for local children and families in need, and will be received by the L.Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes 54 Coldwater St. E Orillia, Ontario L3V1W5 705-326-3595, or on line at: www.kiwanisorillia.ca  through https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/8988?v2=true .
