RAYBURN, Marilyn Jean, (Faris) of Orillia, passed at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in her 82nd year.

Born August 11, 1940, in Orillia, Marilyn was the beloved wife of Everett Rayburn and the loving mother of Christopher Ronald of Innisfree, Alberta. Marilyn loved her step children David Everett and his wife Debbie of Scarborough and Lori Anne and her Husband Lars Olson of Algonquin Highlands.  Marilyn cherished her role as a grandmother to Ricardo.

She is survived by her sister Deborah Hahn of Orillia and her brother Ronald of Pembrook.  Marilyn was predeceased by her sister Joan Nichols and her husband Robert of Orillia and her brother Delford and his wife Audrey of Midland.

Marilyn was the fourth child of Delford and Anne Faris (Addison) of Orillia.  Her formative years were spent in Timmins, returning to Orillia every summer with her mother visiting her Grandparents, Maude and J. C. Addison until they moved back to Orillia in 1952.  Marilyn dedicated twenty-five years of her life working at the Huronia Regional Center making her a valued member of the Ontario Quarter Century club when she retired.

Throughout her life, Marilyn's artistic passions were boundless as she excelled in various artistic pursuits such as painting, sewing, and stained glass fueled by a curiosity to learn and master new art forms.

Marilyn cherished her summers in Orillia and sought warmth during winters in the Rio Grand Valley of San Benito, Texas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical team at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care.

A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, Ontario, on Friday, August 4th, at 1:00 pm with a reception afterwards.
