With her husband, children and grandchildren by her side, Margaret-Ann (Ann) Katherine Readman (nee Houston) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Lloyd Raymond Readman for almost 66 years and loving and proud mother of Peggy Colborne (Fred), Kelly Readman (Chris Chaloner), Vicky Sterling (Brent), Steven Readman (Wei), Stacey Brookes (Josh). Adoring grandma to Erin McKay (Jeff), James Colborne (Karen), Chelsea Colborne, Dana Jones (Scott), Darren Metherall (Rosalind), Eric Sterling (Allie), Rebecca Sterling (Josh), Taylor Sterling, Brandon Readman, Katelyn Readman and great-grandmother to Edwin McKay, Rowan Colborne and Lily Jones. She was pre-deceased by her brother William Houston, sister Irene Houston and her parents Thomas Charles Houston and Margaret Rebecca Houston (nee Thomas).

A woman of amazing strength and resilience, Ann was an inspiration to her family and friends. Her best friend and partner Lloyd was her constant companion in their many adventures in life. Born and raised in Orillia, Ann attended ODCVI high school followed by Business College. She worked for the Confederation Life Insurance Company until the birth of her first child. Ann and Lloyd took great joy in raising their five children. Ann’s adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors, included hiking, bicycling, swimming, cross country skiing, family camping trips across Canada and travel. The many family gatherings, which always included music, dancing and playing games, were what kept her active and youthful.

Guests will be received at St. Marks Presbyterian Church 429 Jamieson Drive, in Orillia, Ontario on Saturday April 13, 2024 from 10am until the time we celebrate her life in the church starting at 11am. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario and Heart and Stroke Foundation and are greatly appreciated.
