Passed away at Hospice Simcoe on June 2, 2023, in her 105th year. Evelyn was born in Carley, ON on October 23, 1918, to her parents, the late Boyd & Hazel Dunlop. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Gerald Joseph Reid and siblings Velma, Mary Martha and Gladys. She is survived by her children Bonnie Smith (Brian) and Donald Reid (Joanne) all of Eady; step grandchildren Andrew Smith (Andrea), Trevor Smith, Julie Young (Bart), Jackelyn Young (Tom); step great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alison, Emily, Colton; and niece, Elizabeth (Beth) Bennett (late James Bennett). Special thanks to Dr. Evans Stone, Simcoe Muskoka Home and Community Care, and Care Partners staff for their care and compassion for Evelyn over the past several years. More recently, also to Bayshore, Hospice Simcoe and VON for their care.
The late Mrs. Evelyn Reid will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia, on Tuesday, June 6th from 7-9 p.m, Wednesday, June 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 8th at St. George Anglican Church Fairvalley from 12 noon until time of Funeral Service at 1p.m. Interment: St. George Church Cemetery, Fairvalley. In memory of Evelyn, memorial donations to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Hospice Simcoe, St. George Anglican Church, Fairvalley or Eady-Wesley United Church.
