With broken hearts we announce that Shayne Sawyer passed away with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Cody Wyoming while on an incredible adventure.

Beloved son of Brenda Sawyer (Wright) and Verdon Sawyer (predeceased).  Grandson of Audrey & Norman Sawyer and Mary & St. Clair Wright (predeceased).  Shayne was the deeply loved husband & soul mate of Cindy Sawyer (Savage) and kind & loving Papa of Koda (Papa's big lug) and Bella (Papa's little girl).  Lovingly remembered by sisters Cheryl Brush (Peter) and Tracy Sawyer.  He is survived by his four children Joshua, Patrick, Brandon, Cassandra and his granddaughters Marley & Cali.  Shayne leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as his nieces & nephews Justin, Ashley, Megan, Daniel, Alex (Josh), Megan (Matt) and Shelby.  Shayne will be missed & very fondly remembered by brother & sister in law Brad & Wendy Savage.  Last but not least Shayne was the much loved son in law of Norma Savage (predeceased) who never seemed to tire of his teasing and endless pranks.  The two of them were a constant source of laughter and entertainment for us all.

Shayne and Cindy had a wonderful, happy life together.  They were husband and wife but also best friends, travel buddies and partners in crime.  They had so many great travels together but when Shayne suddenly passed, they were 4 months into their dream trip..  A 4 1/2 month family adventure with Koda & Bella through Alaska and the Yukon.  Shayne often though that they couldn't see anything more beautiful than what they'd seen that day.  Then the next day... there was something even more beautiful.  Shayne was in charge of driving, cooking & shenanigans.  Koda & Bella were in charge of dishes and security.

After spending two amazing days in Yellowstone Park Montana, they set up camp in Cody Wyoming - all set to spend the next two weeks getting home.  It was there in Cody that Shayne passed - in a place he loved - with the woman he so loved - doing what he loved.  It is our hope that this brings some comfort to all who miss him.

Guests are encouraged to wear something camouflage because... well.... Shayne would just love that.  The late Shayne Sawyer will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia, Tuesday, October 11th, from 5 - 8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, at 1 pm.  Interment; St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery, Orillia.  If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to "Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge" or "The SPCA - Orillia Branch".
