Passed away peacefully at the Victoria House Retirement Residence on Sunday, September 17, 2023 with family by her side, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Murray Scott. Dearly loved mother of Cathy MacDonald, Allan Scott (Marsha), Bradley Scott (Susan). Dearly loved by her grandchildren, Jeff MacDonald (Kristin), Kaitlyn Scribner (Tim), Justin MacDonald (Jamieson), Ryley Scott (Caroline), Cody Scott, Karlee Scott (Neil), and Kole Scott. Much loved by her great grandchildren, Melissa MacDonald and Wilhelmina MacDonald. Survived by her dear sister-in-law’s Norma Leigh, Vera Ashman and Verna Ashman. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents George and Audrey Ashman and siblings Beatrice, Irene, Lorne, Harvey, Clifford and Lloyd.

Betty was a long-term member of Westmount United Church, Westmount Church Women’s group and the Hawkstone Bowling League. Betty was a very caring and considerate person with a great sense of humour. This was especially evident in her later years where she often made the staff at Victoria House laugh with her quips. She always enjoyed the company of family and friends. May she rest in eternal life as she once again joins hands with the love of her life Murray who she missed dearly for many years.
A private family interment service will be held at Knox Cemetery, Oro Township. If desired, Memorial donations to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital or the Diabetes Society would be gratefully appreciated.
