Peacefully, passed away at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Wednesday May 24th, 2023, at the age of 65. Born in Toronto, predeceased by her parents Katherine and Teodor Shemko, and dear brother Todd Shemko. Chrissy will be lovingly remembered by her best friend from the age of 8, Brenda Morgan who was like a sister and her daughter Melissa who was like a daughter to her. Chrissy’s many pets Coco, Fred, EllieMay, Paisley and Pebbles already miss her greatly, she loved them all. She will be greatly missed by lots of family in Alberta, USA, and in Ontario. Christine worked for Loblaw’s for 40 years and made lots of friends including Angie Czkierda. Christine loved travelling, Elvis Presley and Queen along with her precious Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. She fulfilled her bucket list seeing them at live games recently. Christine loved Elvis Presley and Queen she listened to them on her last day. Christine loved flowers so they are appreciated or donations to the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation are appreciated as well. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Monday May 29th, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Interment St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Orillia.
