It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear Betty Skinner (nee Weeks) who passed away on Feb. 15, 2023, after a long illness at the age of 70 yrs.
She is the much loved wife of Alan Skinner and mother of Stephanie Anderson (Charles) and grandmother of Ellie Anderson. She is the daughter of Alfred (Bud) and Mable Weeks (predeceased) and will be dearly missed by sisters Sharon Weeks, Gail Smith (Michael predeceased) and Brenda Mearns (Brian). She was the best-in-the-world Aunt to Mathew Smith (Ana Manuel-Smith), Nadine (Smith) Marges (Ed Marges) and Johan Mearns and Great Aunt to Benjamin and Luc Smith and Sophia Marges. She will also be missed by sister-in-law, Barbara (Skinner) Vinson.
Betty was a quietly warm, kind, loving, happy and strong woman who made good friends of everyone she met. She leaves behind many friends made and kept over her lifetime including Terrie Beasley, a sister at heart and dear friends and neighbours, Julia, Andy, Keaton and Tyson Achilles. She loved to travel and was very creative and was always doing crafts of all sorts.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the doctors and nurses of Harvey 4 and the ICU at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their very kind help and care during this very difficult time.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #34, 215 Mississaga St., E., Orillia, on Sunday, April 30th from 2 - 4 pm.
