Unexpectedly, after a brief illness, Michael passed away at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, on Saturday June 22, 2019 in his 66th year. Mike Smith, of Orillia, beloved husband of Gail (nee Weeks). Loving father of Mathew (Ana) Smith of Courtice and Nadine (Ed) Marges of Utterson. Proud grandfather of Ben Smith, Luc Smith and Sophia Marges. Cherished son of Ellen and the late Clifford Smith. Dear brother of Roger Smith (Valerie) of Oro, Norah Smith (predeceased), Charles Smith of Orillia, and brother in law of Sharon Weeks of Orillia, Betty (Al) Skinner of Orillia and Brenda (Brian) Mearns of Scotland. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Marc Smith, Amber Smith, Stephanie (Skinner) Anderson, Johan Mearns, Danielle Smith and their families. In keeping with Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thurs. July 18 from 7 - 10 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 34, 215 Mississaga St. E.
