November 1, 1944- November 2, 2023

Storyteller, nurse, lover of life. After a long journey with Parkinson’s and dementia, our very much beloved wife, mom, stepmom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and good friend has gone where the dancing never stops and the sun always shines warmly on open water.

Born in Toronto, Carol was a proud graduate of the Orillia School of Nursing (grad class ‘65) and worked as an RN at Soldiers' Memorial hospital for many years. She finished her esteemed career as an immunizations nurse for kids. Her greatest chapter and second chance began when she met Howard, with whom she enjoyed boating, skinny-dipping, trips to Newfoundland, great meals, and more than a few laughs amidst the many challenges of life. She welcomed Howard’s daughters deeply into her heart and delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her little sister Janice (Martin), and pre-deceased by sister Susan. Carol will be so deeply missed by her daughters Marnie (Ania), Pam (Glenn) and Jennifer (Paul) sister-in-law Loretta (Ben), grandkids Jacob, Julia, Kali, Kirsten, Mikayla and Jenna, great grandbabies Reese and Rylee, many nieces and nephews and by many special friends and colleagues. The outstanding care team at Spencer House helped us all immensely as Carol’s illness worsened. No formal service will be held, but the family encourages you to enjoy each precious moment of your lives. Eat, travel, sing, laugh loudly,  love, and learn. Till we meet again.
