It’s with great sadness we share the news of Patricia (Patsy) Snider’s passing at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in her 78th year. Patsy was the loving mother of two precious sons, Mark (Nikki) and Michael Snider; cherished grandma to three, Olivia, Shayne (Lauren) and Tenyka (Gordie) - otherwise known as Shortcake, Shortstop, and Shortbread; beloved daughter of Alex and Josephine McCarthy (nee McIntaggert, both predeceased); and dahling sister to seven: MaryAnne Heitzner (Bill, predeceased), Cecelia Heitzner (Bob, both predeceased), Helen Lipke, Gerrard McCarthy (Pat Reilly), Joan Scott (Michael), Rosella McCarthy, and Susan Bloom (George Lake).

Patsy was successful with every challenge she took on. Whether it was starting her own business, selling homes or simply being a mom to her two beautiful boys - there was no job too big for her. She was as smart as they come and had a knack for connecting with people, which led to a very successful career in real estate. After winning countless awards for her excellence and working her way up one of the top agencies in Canada, she decided to take a step back and apply those same skills to a new passion - bus driving. It was no surprise that the kids loved and enjoyed her as much as she did them. Rain or shine, she always looked forward to driving kids to and from school in the same town where she grew up.

Patsy will be missed by countless nieces, nephews, family and friends - as you know, if you’re one of these fortunate people who had the joy of knowing her. Her love had no limits and as we move forward together, we will honor her by carrying on with 3 things that she loved to do most.

The first was dancing. No son, grandchild, relative or friend could match her style. She had infectious energy and made us all so happy.

The second was the cottage in the summers. Every single visitor swam and were fed and hugged from the moment they arrived until they left. Stop by anytime, stay as long as you wish - everyone was welcome and made to feel right at home at the cottage.

And the third, and perhaps the one that makes us smile the biggest, was the way she cared for others. Whether it was her sisters, her zoom crew, or a complete stranger - Patsy loved people and had an exceptional gift for making everyone feel special. She was selfless and devoted her life to giving. Through it all - we can only hope she knew just how special she was.

As much as Patsy loved flowers, she would appreciate donations to St. Andrews Church, Brechin, Renovation Fund.

We’d also like to thank the team of nurses and doctors at Royal Victoria and Soldiers Memorial hospitals for their compassion and care.

Our family invites you to celebrate Patsy’s amazing life on Friday April 14th:
