September 13, 1940 ~ January 27, 2023 (age 82)
On January 27th, 2023, we said our last goodbyes to Gloria at Andy’s House Hospice in Port Carling, Ontario.
Gloria is predeceased by parents Arthur “Art” Duffy Senior and Ada Duffy (nee Hargrave). Gloria is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence “Larry” Speicher of Gravenhurst, her sister Joan Twa (nee Duffy, Joslin) of Orillia. Gloria is predeceased by daughter Karen Speicher and leaves behind her son Wayne “Guy” Speicher (wife Lorna), daughter Debra “Debbie” Speicher (Doug Ramsey), son Randy (Taira Bainbridge) and also by her ex-daughter in law Joanne Speicher (nee Draper).
Gloria is and will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who all called her “Nan”. Gloria is predeceased by brother Arthur “Sonny” Duffy Junior (Joan), sisters Josephine “Josie” Neely (nee Duffy, McCullough) Genevieve “Jenny” Plunkett (Morgan, nee Duffy) brothers James “Jim” Duffy (Debbie) and Gene Duffy (Barbara). Gloria will also be missed by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home, 215 Bay Street, Gravenhurst, Ontario P1P 1H1 on Monday, February 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with prayers being held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 118 McMurray Street, Bracebridge, Ontario, P1L 1R8 on Tuesday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. Internment to follow in the Spring.
