It is with heartbreaking sadness that the family of Linda Switzer, announces her passing at Mariposa House Hospice on Friday October 20, 2023, at the age of 65. Linda lost her 6 month battle with cancer. Her fight was valiant and amidst it all, she never complained and had kind words and a smile to share with everyone.
Linda is the beloved wife of Doug Switzer and dear mother of Natalie Thornhill (Pete), Brandon Thornhill (Megan) and dear stepmother of Mallory Neivas (Carlos), Danielle Schieck (Mike), Jason Switzer and loving grandmother to Jaxson.
She is also survived by her brothers, Doug and Dave, and predeceased by her sister Donna.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her extended family, nieces, nephews and friends in both Orillia, Midland and Winter Haven, Florida.
Linda had a real love for life that was only outdone by the love for her family. Linda led a life of kindness, caring and generosity to all that knew her and especially for her grandson Jaxson.
The family would like to thank nurse Darlene at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and the excellent caring staff at Mariposa House Hospice for making her final journey comfortable for both Linda and her family.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place at a later date.
Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family through Mundell's Funeral Home in Orillia. The family would ask that any donations be made to Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia.
