It is with heavy hearts that we announce Ron passed away peacefully at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
Loving father of Gregory and Daniel and close friend to their mother, Gloria. Dear brother of Nancy Tarniowy (Hank) and Tina Gordon (Paul). Uncle to Victor, Nick and Terry.
Son of the late Nicholas and Virginia Tozek (nee Northmore). Predeceased by sisters Nicolette and Catherine and nephew, Devon.
Ron grew up on the family farm near Cobourg Ontario and served as a paratrooper with the Princess Patricia Light Infantry before beginning his career as an Audio-Visual Technician at Park Street Collegiate Institute. After retirement, Ron went on to set up a successful charter fishing business. A life-long outdoorsman, he was most at home on the water. He was first and foremost a fisherman.
Affectionately known as Crusty by his many friends and colleagues, Ron was a trusted source of practical wisdom and ingenuity gained through his breadth of experience.
Ron will be remembered for being a voracious reader, his love of westerns, baseball, the weekly crossword and most importantly his devotion to his sons.
According to Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date.
