Vanden Pol; Gerald Peter
We are very sad to announce the sudden passing of Gerald Vanden Pol in his 67th year. Gerry was a much beloved father to Jake and a great support to both Jake & his wife Lynsey. He was a constant and loving grandfather to Sadie, Atticus and Ayla, a steady parental partner to his ex-wife Catherine, a dear friend to so many and a loving brother to Jack, Janice, Claire and Peter. Gerry will be greatly missed. A long-time resident of Orillia, Gerry spent years caring for patients at the Huronia Regional Centre. He walked miles daily, spent weekends working with Jake on projects, baby-sat his adored grandchildren while having fun and adventure with them and met frequently with his friends. He was an institution in the downtown core, walking the sidewalks, sitting on the patio at Apple Annie's or sharing a meal with his grandchildren in restaurants. He was heartbroken preceded in death by his son Zachory, his brothers Michael and Dwayne, his sister Harriet and his parents Harriet and Albert. His absence is now added to our broken hearts.
