December 29, 1955 - January 18, 2022
Marty passed away suddenly at his home in Oro-Medonte on Tuesday January 18th at 66 years of age. A retired Plumber (SCDSB for 35 years), and very hard worker who always had a joke to share and a smile on his face. A dedicated family man who adored his daughters and grand-daughters and was always willing to help others Marty never hesitated to lend a hand when needed. Marty, loving husband (of 37 years) to Jacqueline (Jackie), father to Kristin VandenHeuvel (Jeff Wilson), Kendra VandenHeuvel (Greg Ostertag) and doting Papa to Charlie, Mackenzie, and Hailey Wilson.
Son of Peter and Fran VandenHeuvel (pre-deceased), brother of Henry (pre-deceased), Peter (Doris), John (Janette), Margaret (Richard, pre-deceased) and Angela (Brent). Brother in-law to Sandra (Bob, pre-deceased), Judy (Don), and Michelle (Joe). Marty will be fondly missed by his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Special family friend to Linda Boehm.
Marty was a fun loving, lighthearted man who cherished his family and had an incredible work ethic. He adored his chihuahua Scribble, and grand-puppy Holly, enjoyed his annual family golf tournaments, was a volunteer Karate Senpai and the “Best Plumber around” will be greatly missed by everyone who new him.
Marty did not want a funeral, and cremation has taken place (as per Marty’s wishes).
