It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Ernest Webb of Severn, on January 28th, in his 84th year.  Survived by his loving wife Gaile of 65 years.  He is missed by his children Corrie (Al), Tracy (Jim), Julie (Jack), John Jr. (Lynne), and grandchildren Megan, Rory, Ashley and Skylar.   Life for John started in Orillia before he moved to Toronto.  Work later took John, Gaile and family to Saint John, New Brunswick and then Oakville, finally retiring in Severn.  John & Gaile had a residence in North Fort Meyers, Florida they called home in the winter months for many years.  John had a successful career working with Christie's Bakery, the Toronto Star in Ontario and the Maritime provinces, and was the only Canadian franchisee of Olsten Services, a temporary help & permanent placement service, which had offices in Hamilton, Oakville and Kitchener.  John built his business with his family working alongside him.  John and Gaile retired to enjoy many years of travelling throughout North America and Europe.  John had a love of people and a passion for antique boats and cars, collecting and restoring many over the years.  When not puttering around the house, John volunteered for many years with the Muskoka Steamship and Discovery Centre in Gravenhurst, and worked Christmas Kettle Bells for the Salvation Army.  A celebration of life will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia, on Saturday, April 29th, 2023,  from 10:30 am until time of service at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a memorial gift to the charity of your choice. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com.
