WELCH, Leon Wesley

Passed away at home, peacefully in his sleep after an incredibly courageous and stoic battle with cancer, on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at the age of 68. Leon Welch, of Orillia, born in Haliburton and formerly of Lindsay, was the beloved husband of Joyce Welch, and loving father of his two daughters Amy (Welch) Bush and Lisa Madden & her husband Sean. Leon will be lovingly remembered, and always with pride, by his grandchildren McKenzie & Allie Madden, Ryan & Matthew Bush. He was a special uncle to Nicole Alvey and her family. Leon is predeceased by his parents Lyle & Thelma Welch and his brother Larry Welch. Following cremation, the family will receive friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Sunday, July 7th from 6-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Mundell Chapel on Monday, July 8th at 1 o'clock to memorialize and pay tribute to this incredible man. The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Dr. S. Lowry and the Bayshore Nurses for their care and compassion shown to Leon during his illness.
